olduğunda, bu yapıların yerini Prop "It" yapısı alabilir:

- It is nice to meet you.
- It is strange that she is here at this time of the day.

- It is difficult to guess the meaning.
- It is surprising that she is so late.
- It was claimed that he was murdered.

2.1. Özne durumunda

a) Önem belirtmede

- It is essential to book in advance.
  Önceden yer ayırtmak gerek.

- It is vital that this plan is followed.
  Bu planın izlenmesi şart.

b) Zorluk belirtmede

- It is difficult for him to change his mind.
  Fikrini değiştirmesi zor.

c) Olasılık belirtmede

- It is likely that we'll be a bit late.
  Muhtemelen biraz geç kalacağız.

- Is it possible to go by road ?
  Karayolu üzerinden gitmek mümkün mü ?

d) Fayda belirtmede

- It is pointless to argue with him.
  Onunla tartışmak yararsız.

e) Normallik ve Geleneksellik belirtmede

- It is unusual to see snow in this season.
  Bu mevsimde kar görmek alışılmadık birşey.

- Is it customary to tip the driver here ?
  Buralarda şoföre bahşiş vermek adetten midir ?

f) Süre belirtmede

  İstanbul'a gidiş sekiz saat tutuyor.

g) Duygusal tepki belirtmede

  Onu görmek gerçekten şaşırtıcıydı.

j) Bir fikrin doğuşunu, akla gelişini belirtmede

k) Görünümden elde edilen fikri belirtmede

  Görünüşe bakılırsa bizi bir değişiklik bekliyor.

l) Putative "should" ile

  Bu şekilde düşünmen ilginç.

m) Çeşitli kullanımlar

A) It + for + isim + to + yüklem

- It is better for you wait here.
  Burada beklemen daha iyi olur.

- It is essential for the pages to be read before the weekend.
  Sayfaların hafta sonundan önce okunması şart.

B) It + "-ing"

- It was nice meeting you.
  Seninle tanıştığımıza evindim.

- Is it worth reserving a seat ?
  Yer ayırtmaya değer mi ?
- It is no use trying to argue with him.
  Onunla tartışmaya çalışmak gereksiz.

C) It ... + (as) if / though

- It looks as if it will rain.
  Görünüşe bakılırsa yağmur yağacak.

- It will be a pity if we have to leave the project half-completed.
  Projeyi yarı tamamlanmış halde bırakmak zorunda kalırsak yazık olacak.

D) It ... + (preposition) + isim (= Cleft cümle)

- It was my mother who threw an egg at the President yesterday.
  Dün Başkan'a yumurta fırlatan kişi annemdi.

E) It + "be" + (not) + until / before

- It was before the war that we knew what extravagance was.
  Bonkörlüğün anlamını savaştan önce bilirdik.

2.2. Nesne durumunda

Normalde, nesne ile ilişkili bir sıfat bulunması durumunda kullanılır.

- George made it clear that he disagreed.
  George aynı fikirde olmadığını açıkça belirtti.

- I thought it peculiar that she hadn't written.
  Yazmaması bana çok garip geldi.

- I think it important that we should keep calm.
  Bence sakin durmamız önem taşımakta.

"Owe" ve "leave" yüklemleri ile de kullanılabilir.
 

- We owe it to you to save our daughter.
  Kızımızın kurtulmasını sana borçluyuz.

- We leave it to you to choose.
  Seçimi sana bırakıyoruz.
